RGA has invested many years in developing underwriting rules to meet regional business needs worldwide. AURA’s rule sets allow clients to bring an automated underwriting solution to market quickly! AURA rule sets contain a comprehensive view of underwriting polices and practices drawing upon RGA’s 30+ years of underwriting experience worldwide. At a high level the underwriting rules contain: Extensive lists of risk factors For such areas as impairments, injuries, medications, treatments, occupations, sports/avocations, surgeries, and more. Standard questionnaires 200+ questionnaires which capture underwriting details for disclosures. Cross dependencies of risks Both technology and rule sets to support cross-referencing of common disclosures for inter-relationships, e.g. working at heights and disorders causing dizziness. Work routing Embedded work routing to assist with “special” underwriting disclosures such as: VIP cases, Employee cases, Genetic conditions, and Sensitive conditions such as HIV. Standard tables to create routine requirements Height/Weight/BMI, Age/Coverage, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and user configurable tables. Outsourced Underwriting Services RGA also offers outsourced tele-underwriting services through our business partner organizations. Please reference the AURA Partner Provider section of this document. Evidence Provider Rules RGA can supply evidence provider underwriting rules to support MIB, Labs and MVR interfaces. Prescription Rx underwriting rules will be available in 2008. The advantage of these evidence provider rules is that the AURA Underwriting Rules engine can analyze structured data from the evidence providers in order to make underwriting decisions, drive additional underwriting requirements and provide improved underwriting workflow automation.
